Starting this year, the British flag carrier plans to open fully refreshed Kidszones in their lounges in Heathrow Terminal 5. Fresh new colors, bright new furniture and more educational toys will be at the disposal of the youngins. Each zone will also feature talking mirrors, sensory blocks and aviation-inspired toys. And for the more tech savvy kids, lots of outlets to charge up the iPads and devices for a long flight.
Even the kiddies that are flying solo get to relax in the Skyflyer Solo Lounges. These rooms will have foosball tables, balance boards and fridges stocked with snacks and drinks of the non-alcoholic variety. To while away the the hours of a long layover, kids can hop on the Xbox Kinect game console in each one of the lounges.
BA's announcement includes the fact that the enhancement of the airplane IFE systems will allow passengers to watch movies from the moment they step on the plane to when parks at the gate in it's destination. Kiddos can then occupy themselves with a little Dora The Explorer during some turbulence and then long wait to disembark the plane. If that doesn't work, Skyflyer Packs are filled with activities for the youngest passengers.
