Copa, Spirit Airlines and Frontier are Ready for Plenty of New Routes

Sometimes it’s hard to stay on top of all the new route announcements that come our way, so we’ve complied a little bit of a rundown below. As long as you can afford the fares, this should definitely help add to your passport stamp collection.

· Copa Airlines:
For those who call Boston home—or can get to the airport easily—there’s some big new route news this week thanks our buddies over at Copa Airlines. They’re getting ready to fill up the tanks on one of the area’s first nonstop flights into Latin America, as the plan is to connect Boston with Panama City—that’s Tocumen International Airport to be specific. It sounds like July 10 will be the first day that things start heading back and forth, as Boeing 737s will do their best to zip through the air during the five and a half hour flight. With connections available in Panama to pretty much anywhere in the region, this is some good new route news.

· easyJet:
If you’re thinking about flying into Russia, it’s unlikely that the first carrier that comes to mind is easyJet. However, you better readjust your expectations, as they’re the latest carrier planning to head to and from Moscow-Domodedovo. The low cost carrier is doing their thing between London-Gatwick and Moscow beginning on March 18, and the tickets recently went up for sale. Starting off the flights will be a daily option, but after a month or so things will be bumped up to a couple times per day. We checked out prices through their site, and we saw some one-ways for as little as $86—nice.

· Spirit Airlines:
Just in time for the Super Bowl and Mardi Gras, it’s Spirit Airlines getting ready to fly in and out of New Orleans. The new nonstop flights actually started up yesterday, as January 24 was the first day for nonstop Spirit flights between New Orleans Louis Armstrong International Airport and Dallas-Ft. Worth International Airport. Right now it looks like things are doing their thing just one time per week, but the hope is that the airline will be able to cash in on all those add-on fees with a twice daily flights as soon as June.

· Frontier:
There’s no more cookies, but there are still furry and fuzzy animals on the airplane tails over at Frontier. This week they’ve moved their focus out of New Jersey, and they’re looking towards a new area of the country. Frontier just started nonstop flights between Denver International Airport and Cleveland Hopkins International Airport over in Ohio. The planes and people will be doing their thing four times each and every week, and if you act quickly enough you might even be able to score an introductory fare for as low as $94.

· Cape Air:
More good news for those trying to depart from New England, as Massachusetts is getting ready for the summer season—despite the cold temperatures. Cape Air is pretty good at flying to seasonal destinations, and now they’re getting ready to add one more to their network. Beginning on June 14 the plan is to connect Cape Cod with Westchester County in New York as nonstop flights will be yours for the flying between Barnstable Municipal Airport and Westchester County Airport. Once you make your way to Cape Cod the beaches are just a short ride away, or you can always hop on another flight—or ferry—and make your way out to Nantucket or Martha’s Vineyard.
