The big screen adaptation of Les Miserables has sparked a new interest in the musical, especially among those whose first time included Hugh Jackman as Jean Valjean.

So, in the spirit of striking while the iron's hot, Les Miz has announced a new Canadian company will begin a five month stint in Toronto this fall.

Tentatively, previews are scheduled to begin on Sept. 26, with an opening night of Oct. 9. And, though it has yet to be confirmed, Canadian and London theater star Ramin Karimloo is expected to play Jean Valjean.

The North American Tour of Les Miserables has also recently added several Canadian dates for Vancouver, BC (Queen Elizabeth Theatre, June 12-23), Calgary, AB (Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium, June 25-July 7), Edmonton, AB (Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium, July 9-14), Regina, SK (Conexus Arts Centre, July 16-21), and Winnipeg, MB (Centennial Concert Hall, July 23-28).
