Slippers and Silverware Get the Upgrade for First Class Flyers on American Airlines

Though to us sitting up front is still something for special occasions or mileage redemptions, it's always reassuring to know the slippers and champagne are there on the other side of the curtain. That’s why we’re pleased to hear that American Airlines is getting ready to up the ante on some of their premium class freebies.
We already knew that the carrier is set to go all out with the interior upgrades and finishes on their brandy new Boeing airplanes, and now they’re turning their attention to the little things. For the most part the refreshed goodies will arrive on international flights headed to spots in Europe, Asia, and Latin America (so nearly all over).
The new amenity kits for first class passengers will be filled to the brim with Dermalogica products, and the whole thing can serve double duty as a case for your tablet device. New slippers, mimosas, and an extra pillow round out the offerings.
Back in Business Class the goodies won't be as plush—at least compared to the true up front flyers—but upgrades still include slippers as well as little bottles of goodies from Akhassa cosmetics.
If all the in-flight pampering makes you a little hungry, American Airlines will have you covered there as well. Before your meal even arrives you’ll likely notice the upgraded tray table linens, silverware, and even the new glasses. Menus are getting a total revamp, and first class passengers will even be enjoying an in-flight wine tasting if they choose to do so. This all sounds fine and dandy, but we’ll definitely be saving space for the ice cream sundaes—those are available in both business and first class.
Now more than ever, it looks like we need to start saving up those frequent flyer miles.
