Brews On The Bay – San Francisco, California
Even without the beers we’d be hard pressed to think of a better location for a festival than San Francisco, so it’s only natural that the addition of some sudsy sips can only improve the situation. This year’s event takes place on September 16—that’s a Saturday—right on the deck of the SS Jeremiah O’Brien at Pier 45. The sampling and sipping takes place between 12pm and 5pm, and access to all the fun will set you back $50 per person.
The San Francisco Brewers Guild are those behind the planning and execution of this year’s festival, so we kind of figure that they know what they’re doing when it comes to a beer festival. Over 60 different beers will be available for your enjoyment, and they’ll all be available while you take in the sights of Alcatraz and the Golden Gate Bride. 21st Amendment Brewery, Anchor Brewing, and Pacific Brewing Laboratory are just some of those scheduled to do their thing at this year’s festival, so be sure to pace yourself.
Egg Harbor AleFest – Deer County, Wisconsin
If there’s one state that knows the difference between a good beer and a bad beer it’s probably Wisconsin, so of course we have to recommend the Egg Harbor AleFest. Things are scheduled to take place on September 22, as beer fans descend upon the shores of Lake Michigan—well technically it’s more like Green Bay. Anyway, there will will be home brewing demonstrations, plenty of live music, and lots of food to help you soak up all those drinks.
Things take place between 1pm and 4pm, but there are some VIP tickets available if you’re looking to get in on the action up to an hour earlier. Tickets will set you back $40, but that includes unlimited sampling of at least 100 different craft beers and you’ll even get a snazzy pint glass to bring home. We really can’t see any reason not to attend, and that’s especially the case with places like Capital Brewery, O’so Brewing Company, and Lake Louie Brewing rolling out their kegs and taps.
