· frontier:
New options are coming from Frontier, but just remember that you better book your flights directly on their website—or else. The carrier just started flying some nonstop flights between Colorado Springs and San Diego, and if all goes according to plan they’ll continue to do so three times per week. Right before Thanksgiving the frequency will be bumped up to four times per week, so hopefully you can find something that works with your schedule. All the flying will be done with the carrier’s furry-animal-tailed Airbus A319s.
· Emirates:
There’s no in-flight shower available on this new route from Emirates, but we guess we’d fly with them even without the ability to lather up at 35,000 feet. Nonstop options between Washington Dulles International and Dubai are now available each and every day of the week, as Emirates is sending passengers, planes, and pilots back and forth aboard a few of their Boeing 777-200LRs. The flights will depart the nifty fifty around 11am local time, and they’ll arrive over in Dubai at roughly 8am the following day—local time. On the way back you’ll be leaving at like 2:30am, but will get back to Washington at just before 9am on the same day—all times local.
· Allegiant: [Photos: InSapphoWeTrust and Mr. T in DC]
Unfortunately we don’t have any new information regarding Allegiant and their cheapo flights over to Hawaii, but nonetheless there’s some new route news to share. The low cost carrier is getting ready to link paying passengers between Phoenix-Mesa and Casper—that’s in Wyoming—beginning on December 20. The flights will run two times per week, and that’s pretty much it—happy flying!
