We've said it before and we'll say it again: Oktoberfest season is one of the best seasons! There are so many reasons, least among them all the special beers and the crispness of fall in the air. On the travel end, it means Lufthansa flight crew dressed in traditional Bavarian costumes.

2012 is the seventh consecutive year for the team of 14 known as the Lufthansa "Trachten Crew," but you'll only find them passing out pretzels and greeting you with a hearty "Gr Gott" on specific flights into and out of Munich.

The dirndl-donning ladies and lederhosen'd men will appear on flights from MUC to Hong Kong, Charlotte and New York/Newark. We only know three flights for sure right now:

· Friday, September 21. LH 412 Munich-Newark.

· Friday, September 28. LH 428 Munich-Charlotte.

· Saturday, September 29. LH 429 Charlotte-Munich.

The outfits change every year, and for 2012 the girls will sport a blouse of yellow fabric with a blue floral print, with a blue-and-white striped skirt and blue silk apron. For the first time, the men will slip into leather...Lederhosen to be specific. They'll wear the traditional pants with a "Janker," the Bavarian-style jacket, and their ties will match the dirndls.
