If you're anything like us, you probably think that the in-flight duty-free shopping catalog can eat up a good chunk of time on long-haul international flights and provide a few giggles or unique gift ideas. This week, we'll dive into the pages of some favorite airline shopping magazines and highlight our picks for the just-can't-live-without items.

Today, we bring you our recommendations from in-flight catalogs around the world that ease the pressures of traveling to a new land. No matter how many times you get your passport stamped, it is just a little stressful waiting in immigration lines, collecting luggage and getting to your hotel as quickly as possible. Some airlines will help you relieve some of the stress and all you need is a quick browse of their duty-free magazine.

· British Airways makes it easier to call home to let everyone know you have made it safely. Passengers can purchase a new sim card for their mobile phones in-flight so they can don't have to worry about roaming charges upon touchdown.

· South African Airways takes communication to the next level with a fully functional, unlocked phone complete with a sim card preloaded with $10. If you have ever gotten a surprise roaming phone bill, you know that $140 is a value.

· Emirates understands a busy traveler that doesn't quite have the time to learn a new language. They offer passengers language packs to cram in a few new words to speak to the taxi driver or the bellhop. The duty-free trolley doesn't have all languages, but German, Chinese and Japanese are for the taking all for $38.

· Cathay Pacific offers passengers discounted public transport passes. Not only is it a fast way to make your way around the city from the airport, it is environmentally responsible. Round-trip passes are available from Hong Kong and Kowloon Stations or a tourist pass on the air train and 3 days unlimited travel on the MTR. Prices range from $20 to $38.

These products are just the tip of the iceberg to the little gems you can find. Now you know that you shouldn't pass over the duty-free shopping mag in your seat back pocket since there are plenty of great finds.
