The Return of the $5 One-Way Hertz Rental (and More Deals)

If you need a rental car anytime soon you might want to check out Hertz when doing your online shopping. The rental car behemoth is preparing all kinds of promotions for the fall, and it’s all part of their global sale.

You can save $40 per week in Florida, keep an extra $40 on your weekend rental, and even save up to $100 on one of their fancy car rental from the Prestige or Adrenaline collections. The scoop on some of these deals can be found right here, so just copy and paste the appropriate code thing and enter those credit card digits.

We looked into some of their other deals, and we thought some of the best included a one-way rental deal into Arizona. In the spring they usually want the cars to get out of the state, but now it looks like they’re almost begging you to drop off one-way rental cars back into Arizona. Rates start at just $5 per day for economy or compact cars, and you can do your thing between now and October 10 as long as your rental starts off in California, Colorado, Nevada or Utah. All the details, restrictions, and other rules can be found right here.

The other thing that caught our attention was a deal for the young folks, as anyone under 25 knows what a bummer it is to rent a car. Hertz has got you covered—at least through the end of January—as they’re waiving any and all young driver fees. Just include PC# 144314 in your reservation and you should be set. Your reservation may include the fee on your confirmation information, but Hertz promises that they’ll be deducting it at the time of your rental.

Bottom line is that Hertz is pretty much giving away rental cars—okay, we’re exaggerating a bit—but they’re definitely worth a look this season if you need a fresh set of wheels.
