Surprisingly Yummy Airline Meals: Delta's Vegetarian Lasagna
We have all had a terrible meal on a flight before. In fact, we have shown you some of the sadder trays slid in front of us. With this new series of amazing airline meals, we can revel in the airline culinary delights and give kudos to the airlines that got it right.
It should come as no surprise that the majority of our favorite, tasty airline meals occur in First or Business Class, and this dinner on a Delta B737-800 is no different. What is different however, is that it's a tasty and filling vegetarian option. Surprise!
The flight: cross country from SEA to JFK. Our friend, who enjoys crazy high Medallion status with Delta, was upgraded to First (there is no Business Class) but passed the seat to us (thank you again). Ah, lovely 1A.
So it's a pretty normal-looking in-flight dinner spread, right? Small salad, warm roll, slice of dense chocolate cake, glass of red wine...but the lasagna was so good that we're writing about it here and now. Also, it was huge. Like, didn't-have-to-eat-again-rest-of-the-day huge.
Sadly now it's back to economy with us, though knowing that the surprisingly yummy First Class vegetarian lasagna exists will make it that much harder.
If you have had an airline meal that you just need to rave about, let us know via email here. We would love to hear about them and then, ultimately, add them to our airline bucket-list.
