· Interjet:
We remember hearing about Interjet late last year, and how they were looking to cross the border into the United States for the first time. Well things must be going well for the carrier, as now they’re looking to bring another flight up to the nifty fifty. As of today, Interjet—second largest air carrier in Mexico—is now flying new nonstop flights between New York-JFK and Mexico City.
The new flights will do their thing each and every day of the week, and these New York flights are in addition to existing flights to other spots like Miami and San Antonio. If you want to check out Interjet—or just Mexico—roundtrip fares can be had for as little as $349 through the end of August. Best of all, they’ll even allow you to bring along two checked bags for free.
· Volaris:
Who wants to go to Uruapan? It might not be the first destination in Mexico that is on the tip of a traveler’s tongue, but that doesn’t mean that they aren’t deserving of their very own nonstop flight. Low-cost carrier Volaris is planning to link the city with a new nonstop flight right up and over to Los Angeles. Our buddies over at AirlineRoute.net spill the beans on the new option, as this is nonstop flight option number seven between Mexico and Los Angeles for Volaris. The flight will just do its thing once per week on Tuesdays, and should be ready to go starting on October 2.
· United Airlines:
This isn’t exactly a new route, but we wanted to share it with you—just in case. Through its United Express affiliates, United is already flying between Shenandoah Valley Regional Airport in Virginia and Washington-Dulles. However, Silver Airways took over the flight responsibilities earlier this week.
They’ll be sending passengers back and forth between the two cities thanks to a little propeller power through their Saab 340 airplanes. For passengers it should really just be business as usual, but we thought we’d let you know about the change. Just in case you weren’t familiar with the Silver Airways sticker on the side of your plane.
