Will Woody Allen Make Us Fall in Love with San Francisco Next?

Woody Allen's most recent movies, including Vicky Cristina Barcelona, Midnight in Paris, and To Rome with Love, have focused as much on their location as the character's relationships. And now, as Allen begins filming his next romantic comedy in San Francisco, we wonder if he'll be able to capture the beauty of San Francisco the same way he has these European cities.

Though little is known about the movie, starring Cate Blanchett, Alec Baldwin, Peter Sarsgaard and Louis C.K., it is said to be about a woman trying to make it on a budget so she moves to San Francisco from New York City and has to now except the new city as her home.

So far, the untitled film has been spotted filming in San Fran's scenic Pacific Heights neighborhood. And, on Monday, August 6, they will film a posh party scene in Marin County before moving back to San Francisco where the shoot will continue in the Mission District, the western end of San Francisco, and the city's Marina District.

Allen has also been dining out most nights since he arrived in town early last week. He's already been seen at Rose Pistola, Kokkari, Esperpento, and Zuni.

The Untitled Woody Allen Project is expected to hit theaters early next year. Guess we'll have to wait until then to see if Woody can make us fall in love with San Francisco, the way we've already fallen for Rome, Paris, and Barcelona.

San Fran Cheap Home?

"...it is said to be about a woman trying to make it on a budget so she moves to San Francisco from New York City and has to now except the new city as her home." Really, has anyone ever looked at rental and purchase prices in SF?! Less expensive than NYC to be sure, but I wouldn't consider the City By The Bay to be a "cheap" place to live.
