For those departing on a cruise there’s often a flight involved as part of the journey. After all, you have to get yourself to the cruise terminal. And you’d think you'd leave the memories of your flight back on land as you prepare to set sail, but that’s not the case for one unique voyage.

The folks behind Airways magazine are organizing a specialty cruise just for airplane geeks. This might not be what most want to dedicate those valuable vacation days to, but if you love yourself some airplanes this is probably right up your alley.

Things are scheduled to set sail on January 12, and all the flying fun—well, sailing fun—will do its thing through January 19. It’ll set you back around $750 per person, as you set sail aboard Celebrity Summit out of San Juan, Puerto Rico. Ports of call include spots like St. Lucia, Barbados, and St. Thomas, but the highlight of the trip is probably the stopover at St. Maarten. In case you haven’t seen it in one of thousands of YouTube videos, the island’s airport is pretty much located just up from Maho Beach, where takeoffs and landings are their own tourist attractions.

Obviously there will be plenty of the typical cruise stuff, but organizers are also arranging for airline and aviation industry speakers to be in attendance to click through some neat-o PowerPoints.

This probably isn’t a choice for everyone, but we’re kind of intrigued…
