The road snaked us down the 20 miles of twisty roads, each bend allowing for a photo op. Very little actual pedaling was needed to maintain speed since the majority of it was downhill, hence no breaking a sweat. The bike brakes were the ones getting the total body workout, though.
Leading the pack was a guide, while the air conditioned van (which contained spare parts and extra water) followed from a distance. The reward for making it all the way down? A view back up at the mountain conquered, square behind the Santa Barbara Mission. Then it's to the beach!
The cost for this biking adventure is $119/person with a 4-person min. It typically lasts from 10:00am - 3:00pm. To join a trip down the mountain, contact the Santa Barbara Adventure Company at 1-877-885-WAVE.
Disclosure: We biked down the mountain thanks to Toyota, but all opinions and photos presented here are completely our own.
