Brew at the Zoo – Louisville, Kentucky
Mix and mingle with the critters, as all the sips and samples take place at the Louisville Zoo Oasis band shell, tent, and field on August 25. There will be plenty of interesting and unique options from both local and not so local breweries, and there will even be a few wines to savor as well. Live music, pub games, and what they’re calling “zoorific entertainment” will all be part of the fun. Just remember not to provide the animals with any sips from your official festival five-ounce tasting mug.
Apocalypse Brewing Company, Bluegrass Brewing Company, and Cumberland Brewery are just a few of those scheduled to be attendance, so just be sure to take your time and pace yourself. Local restaurants will also set up shop to keep you filled up, and to likely seduce your taste buds with some free samples as well. Tickets in advance will set you back $45, but if you wait until the day of the event things jump up to $55—so plan ahead!
ZooBrew – Rochester, New York
Seneca Park Zoo loves toasting to the animals, and they’ve been doing so all summer; however, there’s only ZooBrew event left this summer, and it’s scheduled to do its thing on September 7. The fun goes down between 5:30 and 9pm, and it’s kind of like a happy hour featuring zoo animals and live music. The last event of the season will feature the Last Minute Blues Band, so we’re thinking that even the animals will get in on the fun.
It’ll set you back $10 to get in on the fun, but that pretty much only gets you admission to the zoo. There’s plenty of food and drink available to purchase, but be sure to bring plenty of spending money—the beer is cash only. Don’t forget to call up the babysitter, because even though the kiddos are usually welcome at the zoo, this is a 21+ party please.
