In addition to the music and free shirts being thrown in every direction, Virgin was also throwing out Buy-One-Get-One passes which entitled game-goers to, you guessed it, buy one regularly priced plane ticket and get the second ticket FREE! Turns out people were really into getting their hands on these passes. Surprising, right? Luckily, everyone that came into the stadium also got one of the passes, so everybody won.

The Virgin America MC got the crowd nice and riled up for the pending Giants Vs. Rockies game. Even though we weren't inside the stadium yet, they were able to get the crowd to perform a wave (a micro wave if you will—thank you, I'll be here all night).

Finally we made our way inside to join the throngs of other Giants fans ready to see some baseball. However, the coolest part was yet to come. After walking through Virgin America's "Club Level" (they have mood lighting on the ceilings and you take a cool, plane-shaped escalator up to it), the game announcer came on to explain that a Virgin America aircraft was officially in San Francisco airspace and that the game's ceremonial first pitch would be thrown at 35,000 feet down the aisle of the plane.

As the big screen live-streamed the first pitch down the aisle (thrown by a Virgin America passenger to her husband, who did the catching), we wondered if technically that may have been the fastest official first pitch in the history of Major League Baseball. How can that be you say? Well, they were flying on an Airbus A320-200 which has a cruising speed of 511mph, so the baseball was traveling at least that fast down the aisle of the plane. See what I mean?

Another highlight of the day was Virgin America flight attendant, and astoundingly talented vocalist, Charity Youngblood, belting out a fantastic performance of the National Anthem. After she finished, the stadium erupted with applause and it was time to "PLAY BALL," just on the ground this time.
