More Bad News from PEOPLExpress Points to a 2013 Launch

July 23, 2012 at 10:09 AM | by | Comments (0)

There are no planes as of yet, but once again PEOPLExpress is already running into a little bit of difficulty. The last we heard from them was bad news based on government issued fines, and this latest update doesn’t sound that great either.

The folks over at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette are reporting that the airline is delayed once again. There’s been no contract, agreement, or anything else related to securing some new airplanes—we’re thinking those are, like, step one in building an airline. Also, it sounds like the carrier isn’t exactly flying through the certification process, nor are they completing all the required paperwork in a timely manner.

All these stumbles means that the airline won’t be soaring into the skies by the end of 2012, so 2013—if not later—will be the first time that we see PEOPLExpress take off into the skies. The airline insists that all is going according to plan, but it’s just taking way longer than they initially planned.

For now we’ll just remain optimistic about the future of PEOPLExpress, because after all, we’re all about new routes and new airlines. However, this latest delay kind of makes us a little nervous, but we’ll just have to wait and see.
