Tasting details: A first tasting is $2 and any following are $1 each. Pours are a generous 1oz, plenty for two people to share. There's also the option to taste four reds or four whites, or custom pick your variety, as we did: Chardonnay, Riesling, Peach Hard Cider and Cherry Hard Cider. Other options include Pinot Gris, Regatta Red, Cherry Wine, Cherry Finale and Apple Hard Cider. Add a cheese plate for $9 or charcuterie for $10.

Our wine pick: ...is not a wine at all! On a hot, sunny day as it was, nothing proved more refreshing than their crisp Tunnel Vision Peach Hard Cider. Pushed to chose a wine, we'd go with their 2010 semi-dry Riesling.

Now, about that "Squash Rocket." Just beyond the small parking lot are three wood contraptions of increasing size. Go for the largest, of course. Pay $1 for 4 shots (of ammo ranging from potatoes to actual squash) and let 'er loose by placing each veggie in the slingshot and pulling back 'til you just can't hold it any longer. The veggie will shoot into a field with distance markers, where it'll become feed for the grazing sheep.
