A Little Birdie Hitches a Ride to LAX...Inside a Plane

We’ve seen birds on airplanes before—like these penguins—but this may just be the first time an unwelcome bird hopped around aboard. Late last month, one extra passenger joined a flight to Los Angeles from Taiwan, and it wasn't exactly considered to be a feathered friend.

It sounds like the songbird found its way into the cabin, after escaping from a passenger’s belongings. Flight attendants captured the stowaway birdie, and stuck it into a box for further inspection upon arrival.

US Customs and Border Patrol thinks tweetie was part of a failed smuggling attempt, and once it arrived on the ground it was placed in a cage and given some food and water. Apparently this was the only bird on the plane, as an inspection of the plane—and the passenger—didn’t reveal any other little critters or creatures.
