The big event takes place between 6pm to 9pm. Visitors have the option of purchasing regular tickets ($50 for members / $65 for nonmembers) or VIP tickets ($85 for members / $100 for nonmembers). Everyone who buys a ticket gets beer samplings and a commemorative mug.
VIP ticket holders also get free parking, the chance to play Wii games on a giant TV, restaurant tastings, full pours, some other stuff, and access to games and a photobooth that has props. Insert your hipster punchline here. Details and purchase links here.
Note 1: Brew at the Zoo will be held rain or shine, which is an awful bold proclamation for an event being held in DC's "kill yourself to escape the heat and humidity" summer. Note 2: "proceeds support animal care, conservation science, education, and sustainability at the National Zoo." Note 3: "All but $25 of your ticket price is tax-deductible." Note 4: you can purchase a kind of designated driver ticket for $30, where you won't get served but your friends will get visibly drunk.
Note 5: the picture from the top is of a National Zoo tiger playing with a keg. Apropos, no?
