Four More Big Gay Summer Festivals Following Pride Month

Most cities across the country set aside summer time to play host to a myriad of events celebrating Pride Month. But just because the major parades are over and the glitter has been swept up doesn't mean that the fun is at an end. Here is are a few recommendations to keep the Pride going all season:

· San Diego Pride: There is no competing with other cities for this Pride. July 20-22 is the time to head to the Californian city to celebrate all things gay. This is not your typical event, since the entire celebration is highlighted by a massive dance party in the zoo. Party with the boys and wild animals at the Zoo Party or hangout on picturesque beaches. Perfect weather is almost guaranteed, so it's up to you to bring the fun.

· Chicago Market Days: Boystown Chicago becomes the region's largest street festival celebrating diversity. With lots of street food, music performances and vendors selling their wares, visitors of all persuasions are guaranteed to have a good time. August 11-12 are your days to party. Bring the sunscreen because, like the boys and girls, the sun is hot hot hot at this time.

· Provincetown Carnival: Head to the tip of the cape in Provincetown, Massechusetts for a week-long celebration themed for the famous Brazilian parade. With dance parties, pool lounging and beach-going, the sleepy New England town wakes up for this event. Get some saltwater taffy or a lobster roll from August 12-18. The town is small, so book your B&B now.

· New Orleans' Southern Decadence: Finish off your summer right with a trip to the Big Easy. The city fills up with boys ready to party for one of the largest events outside of Mardi Gras. While most of the frolicking is centered in the French Quarter, we would recommend a daytrip outside of the city to tour some garden district plantations. Put a rainbow sticker on your calendar for September 1-2.

These aren't the only events around the country, so if you have other favorite celebrations to share this summer, let us know!
