All the Details for Today's Miami Heat Victory Parade

Get ready to cheer—or jeer—LeBron James and his crew this afternoon in Miami, as the Miami Heat are set to take to the streets to celebrate their victory in this year’s NBA Finals. We’re thinking that plenty of people will be calling out sick to participate on today’s festivities, especially since the fun is scheduled to begin as early as 11am.

The hubbub will start right around Southeast Eighth Street and Second Avenue near Brickell Village in Miami, and then things will head over the Miami River. Eventually the parade will wind their way through the city, onto Biscayne Boulevard, and then finally end up at the American Airlines Arena. It’s season ticket holders only inside the arena, where the official celebration will continue behind closed doors.

The only thing that could damper the fun would be a little bit of rain, especially since South Florida is known for some pretty serious downpours during the summer season. Organizers promise that the party will go on rain or shine, so you might want to just remember to stick a poncho in your pocket before heading out the door.

There will also be plenty of water stations situated along the parade route, as no one wants the throngs of fans to become too overwhelmed by the Miami Heat—ha. Also, if you get hungry during the festivities just swing by Dunkin Donuts for a sweet pick-me-up. The South Florida donut shops will be offering up special celebratory treats, as they’re baking up some heart shaped donuts with red, white, and chocolate icing inscribed with the world “Heat” on them.
