The Ultimate Geek Road Trip: Lucasfilm & Rancho Obi-Wan

May 31, 2012 at 2:22 PM | by | Comments (0)

This summer geeks from around the world will make a pilgrimage to the headquarters of Lucasfilm in California. But, other than the famed Yoda Fountain at Lucasfilm's Presidio campus in San Francisco, the ultimate Star Wars Mecca offers little for visitors.

That doesn't mean it isn't worth the trip though, especially considering the next best thing to hanging out with George Lucas himself—Rancho Obi Wan—is located just north of San Francisco in Sonoma County.

Rancho Obi-Wan houses the largest private collection of Star Wars memorabilia in the world and, though it is not open the the public, anyone can schedule a tour of the facility with Star Wars enthusiast Steve Sansweet. Along the tour you can take photos, play games in the arcade, and get the scoop on everything Star Wars from Steve. Tours start at $200 for two people for about two hours. Visit www.ranchoobiwan.org to buy tickets.
