Spend Opening Weekend of 'The Avengers' with Stan Lee in Catalina

This weekend Stan Lee will celebrate the release of The Avengers on California's Catalina Island and you can join him!

Lee, who is the former president of Marvel Comics and co-founded the POW! Entertainment company, is set to host a special screening of The Avengers at the Catalina Film Festival this weekend. He'll also introduce the documentary With Great Power: The Stan Lee Story and appear on a panel to discuss his work.

As if that weren't enough, he'll also be presented with the Ronald Reagan Great Communicator Award, which is given to filmmakers who espouse "a philosophy of individual opportunity, optimism and pride".

The festival will run from May 4 through May 6 and will feature 75 films. Most films will be shown at the Avalon Casino Theater. Tickets range from $8 for students and seniors to $2,000 for VIP guests.
