Consistency is Key on Qantas

As airlines keep introducing fresh aircraft into their fleets, usually the interiors will vary, depending on how new a plane you end up flying. It's a common issue, and it's still the case with Qantas' ultra-long haul product after the introduction of the infamous big bird, the A380.

By the end of the year, this will all be fixed as the rest of the airline's long-haul aircraft come under the knife for the needed update. The Red Roo has started to refurbish the cabins of the older 747s to align the experience customers have when flying 14+ hours over the pacific. So, very soon, you need not worry about what specific aircraft you're booking when booking with Qantas.

Starting this year, all seats on 747s will feature the Marc Newson-designed seats with larger seatback entertainment systems. In the cushy first class, each plane will sport the newest and poshest suites, while business class guarantees the fully-lie-flat seat. For those willing to splurge a little more then economy, each plane will also have a premium economy section and, take it from us, the extra space and comfort is well worth the upgrade is you can spare the frequent flyer miles.

This news comes the same day the airline announced they would be splitting the international and domestic operations into two divisions in July, under separate CEOs, while Alan Joyce remains CEO of the entire airline as a whole. Though customers won't see any differences between the services and products, the decision-making side of the airline will depend on where you are flying.

Overall, it's all good news and we can't be happier for consistency from airplane to airplane; it only saves us a lot of time spent researching on Seat Guru.
