Spark Ventures and Groupon Get into the Voluntourism Game in Zambia

Spark Ventures, a Chicago-based nonprofit that helps provide children in poverty with nutrition, education and healthcare, is planning a summer trip to Zambia and it might not be too late to get involved.

The Zambia summer trip will run from July 15 - July 21, 2012 where volunteers will work with Hope Ministries and the children they serve in Ndola.

In addition to spending time with local kids, travelers will also tour a poultry farm that is helping Hope Ministries and the people the serve gain independence, fly to Livingstone to see Victoria Falls, and go on a safari in Botswana with the Hope Ministries staff.

Spark Ventures recently teamed up with Groupon to offer the trip, which would normally cost $3500, at a discounted rate. The Groupon deal has ended, but according to their website, Spark is still trying to "keep the costs lower for trip participants" and recommends contacting their offices or joining their Wait List for the Groupon price.
