...and a fish flight from the past
The good news is that the salmon is getting ready to return, as the graphic designers over at Alaska Airlines are prepping plans to bring a new king salmon to the side of one of their Boeing 737-800s. This fresh fish will be roughly 130-feet long, and it’s all part of a partnership between the airline and the folks over at the Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute. Maybe we’ll even see a little seafood arrive on the in-flight menu—salmon salad anyone?
As long as there’s not an unforeseen shortage on fish-colored paint, the new livery should make a splash sometime this fall. It’s going to be a little more involved than the former look, as fish scales will even extend out towards the plane’s winglets. We’ll be sure to let you know when the first finned flight takes to the skies.
