TLC's New Reality TV Show Makes a Star and a Villain of Southwest Airlines

Frustrated flyers will soon be able to see their misery played out on the small screen.

TLC has announced its latest reality series, On The Fly, will debut at 9 P.M. on May 24.

The show's concept will be familiar to those who were fans of A&E's Airline. Like that series, On The Fly follows Southwest Airlines employees and passengers as they deal with lost luggage, weather delays, canceled flights and airport meltdowns.

The series' tagline, “Stand By for Turbulence,” says it all. A trailer for On The Fly shows six different passengers screaming at Southwest employees in under 30 seconds. But just because there will be plenty of drama, it doesn't mean the show won't have heart too. One upcoming episode is expected to feature a young man who, after getting a tattoo of his grandmother, travels to Florida to surprise her.
