· Hawaiian Airlines:
It seems like things are going pretty darn well over at Hawaiian Airlines, and every time we look they’re adding a new connection between two cities. This week it sounds like they’re prepping a new destination over in Japan, as the plan is to bring Honolulu and Sapporo just a little bit closer. Boeing 767s will get the job done beginning at the start of November, but that’s assuming that the airline is able to get all the government approvals, stamps, and seals. Of course this is exciting—as are all new routes—but let’s not forget that we’re only weeks away from the launch of New York-JFK to Honolulu as well.
· US Airways:
The summer season is pretty much upon us at this point, and that means that the seasonal schedules have been loaded into the system. US Airways has started up plenty of their warm weather flights to destinations in Europe, so if you’re still planning your trip across the pond there’s many of options. Out of Philadelphia some of the seasonal options include Frankfurt, Venice, Athens, and Barcelona. If you’re more inclined to depart the country out of Charlotte they’ve got you covered as well, as flights are now heading to Rome and Dublin. They’re also getting Madrid and Frankfurt flights ready to go too. The schedules and timing depends on where you’re heading and from where you’re departing, so just be flexible with your dates to get what you want.
· United:
Now that the merger is behind them, it’s all about the new routes over at United. We think that we mentioned that United was heading over to Doha, but now it’s time for the flights to finally do their thing. The airline is now flying each and every day of the week over to Dubai and then continuing on to Doha—that’s in Qatar. Flights depart out of Washington-Dulles, so there’s definitely plenty of connection opportunities if you’re not really too close to the long term parking at IAD. Boeing 777s will do the heavy lifting on this route, if you’re looking to upgrade the flights will have first class, business class, and economy cabins.
