'The Amazing Spider-Man' Hints at a Scavenger Hunt in 11 US Cities Tomorrow

This week comic geeks have been buzzing about a recently launched viral campaign for The Amazing Spider-Man.

A few days ago, several Spidey-related websites began launching, including a site for the fictional Jerera's Boxing Gym which, according to the site, is funding the wrestling team at Peter Parker's Midtown Science High School. Fans have also uncovered ParkersPOV.com, featuring a photo of a young Peter Parker and his parents, as well as a new OsCorp website that, so far, only reveals the company's logo.

But, what really has fans excited is the "official" website for Midtown Science High, including a newsletter with articles about Spider-Man, The Lizard, and a suggestion that readers join @scaleseeker on a hunt in Los Angeles, NYC, Atlanta, Chicago, Salt Lake City, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Austin, Tampa, Minneapolis or New Orleans this Friday at noon.

What exactly is going to happen in those cities remains a mystery, though it is believed the events will involve the film's villain, The Lizard. Some speculate it could be some kind of simultaneous flash mob, while others think they will be scavenger hunts. Guess we'll have to wait until Friday to find out who's right.

If you want to join in on the fun, be sure to follow @scaleseeker on Twitter tomorrow at noon!
