Help Evian Set a Record for World's Longest Conga Line...on Roller Skates
We have some news: roller skates still exist! Rollerblading did not totally vanquish the original form of getting around on two legs and a clunky set of wheels, after all!
The revelation comes courtesy of the folks at Evian, who are hosting an attempt this Saturday to set the world record for the longest roller-skating conga line. It's all happening in (where else?) South Beach, where we see few roller skates these days but plenty of roller blades and, sadly, Segways.
Yes, it's all a corporate PR stuntjumping off of those roller-skating babies in evian's commercialsbut if it involves free skate rental and use of a temporary rink, does it matter?
There'll also be free ice cream, free evian water flowing and plenty of giveaways.
The action kicks (skates?) off at noon on Saturday, April 7, in Collins Park, Miami Beach. (That's between 21st & 22nd Streets, near the Bass Museum and the W South Beach).
The record attempt is scheduled for 2 p.m. and at 3:30 p.m. there'll be a performance by some of the world's top skaters.
Get all the deets and RSVP to take part here. Don't forget to Instagram shots of your skates and sexy knee-highs.
