The Jane Goodall Institute, which works to preserve great apes and their habitats, does have a travel program geared toward giving individuals a behind-the-scenes look at the organization's work. At the moment, JGI doesn't have any trips in the works, but they still have plenty of opportunities for adults to volunteer in their programs.
Jane Goodall’s Roots & Shoots Program gives people from the world the chance to volunteer in Tanzania, where the institute was started. Volunteers help with environmental clean-up, facilitate field trips to national parks, participate in grant writing and more. The program costs $3,650 for 6 months.
If you can't spend 6 months volunteering in Africa, you can still help out the Jane Goodall Institute by seeing Chimpanzee this weekend. For each ticket sold today an tomorrow, Disneynature will make a donation to JGI to help protect chimpanzees.
