All-You-Can-Fly Private Jets for Under $1000 Coming to California

JetBlue better watch out, as there’s a new airline getting in on the all-you-can fly action. It’s not one of the big legacy carriers or even one of the more popular low-cost carriers, but it is a brand new airline that looks to send passengers up and down the California coast. Usually private flights or airline membership programs are way out of reach per most, but that might be a little bit different if Surf Air gets their way.

Just last week the airline opened up its doors and began accepting applications in advance of a planned launch (as soon as this summer), with flights in and out of spots like Palo Alto, Monterey, Santa Barbara, and Los Angeles. That’s perfect for those Silicon Valley hotshots looking to head out of town for billion dollar investment meetings—can you say Instagram? However, with Surf Air you don’t need to be a tech titan to afford a private ride.

Rates start at $790 per month and that will get you access to way more than just traditional first class. Members of the Surf Air service get access to unlimited flight benefits, on-site concierge services, and plenty of luxury and legroom on what they’re calling mid-sized executive aircraft.

Other features of pretty much buying time on your very own airplane include the lack of a security line at the airport, which means you can actually leave your office—or mansion—at the last minute and still have an on-time takeoff. That alone is probably worth the price of admission; especially for those who truly believe that time is money.

The basic plan—that’s the $790 per month one we mentioned earlier—will get you access to all the flights you’d like to take, but you’re limited to holding two reservations at a time. The next membership goes up to around $1,000, and that allows for a few more reservations. Finally, those signing up as initial members will even get unlimited complimentary guest passes—sounds like we’re going to Santa Barbara for dinner.

We’ll see how this catches on—or if it even gets into the air—but we’d definitely waste some money just for the chance to fly around for the month.
