Aspen at Its Peak in One Minute of Time-Lapse

March 19, 2012 at 2:03 PM | by | ()

It's 72 and sunny right now in New York City and promising to reach 80 by week's end, with the midwest enjoying up to 85. Not only are the high temperatures crazy, but they're shocking. Will weather crash in April, bringing back cold temps? We doubt it, but we're not putting away our leather gloves quite yet.

Instead, it's time to start planning winter hotspot getaways for 2013. Deep breath.

If you live in a major US city, it may seem as though everybody and their moms took off for Aspen, Colorado in the last few weeks. During this time, The Daily's Robert Sevilla and Joni Milne grabbed their cameras and pieced together shots of a sort of "ski rush hour." This is peak season, this is the time of year to aim to go to Aspen next year, and this is what it looks like when you do.

It's only mid-March and already we're nostalgic for winter weather. Sigh.
