Those flying have lots of options on where to sit and what to do up in the air, but that of course assumes that money is no object. Malaysia Airlines is filling its new plane with just shy of 500 seats—494 to be specific. There will be eight first class seats and 350 economy seats available for your sitting pleasure on the main deck, and they’ll be sticking 66 business class seats and another 70 economy seats on the upper deck. It doesn’t sound like the cheap seats up top are anything special, but of course we’d want to sit on the top just so we could go up a flight of stairs on an airplane.
All the details haven’t been revealed regarding exactly what kind of in-flight entertainment options will be loaded on board the new plane. However, it does sound like they’re partnering up with Thales to ensure that each seat has an entertainment system with USB ports—as well as an option to place a satellite telephone call. Malaysia Airlines has some pictures up on their website and even a little video, so if you want to do some A380 and Asia dreaming this afternoon head over their way.
