One of those cities, Tucson, AZ, is giving students the chance to work with local children who are struggling to gain the skills they need to enter school. ASB participants will help kids with homework, facilitate group games, work on arts and crafts, and implement technology-based curriculum at the Tucson Boys & Girls Club.
The program costs $275 per spring breaker which covers lodging, food, t-shirts, and ground transportation. United Way's Alternative Spring Break will take place in Tucson during the weeks of March 4, March 11, March 18 and March 25, 2012.
