· British Airways:
It’s much easier to get to and from London City Airport when compared to the city’s other behemoth options like Gatwick or Heathrow, so that’s why we’re happy to hear about some new routes from British Airways. The airline is tapping the smaller airport for new fights to Mahon—that’s in Spain—along with the French cities of Angers and Quimper. The flights will arrive—or depart—just in time for the summer season, as the plan is to get the flights up in the air starting around May 25. That should give you somewhere fun to go if you’re trying to escape the city before the influx of flag-waiving Olympic visitors.
· Frontier:
We say it all the time, but onboard chocolate chip cookies make new route announcements from Frontier Airlines that much better. This week the furry-animal-tailed carrier is looking to welcome a few new cities to its route network. Starting during the middle of May, Frontier is bringing new nonstop service to Bellingham, Washington; Great Falls, Montana; Bloomington, Illinois; Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. All the new options will head back and forth from the airline’s hub at that big airport in Denver, so with a connection there’s even more places to visit and vacation. The bummer is that only two routes will be sticking around after the warm weather ends—Bloomington and Cedar Rapids.

We can hardly contain our excitement over this one—kidding—as it’s time for Spirit Airlines to head to some new locations. They must be doing something right, as it seems like they’re always looking to bring their fee-for-all system to new cities. This week Spirit announced plans to do a nonstop flight between Atlanta and Atlantic City beginning during the middle of May. It’s going to do this flight back and forth each day of the week, but they didn’t mention when it would disappear for the fall or winter. That’s not all for Atlantic City, as the city will also be getting seasonal nonstop service aboard Spirit to spots like Boston, Detroit, and Chicago. Just don’t gamble away all your spending cash, as you’ll need a couple bucks for your carry-on bag on your return flight.
