Landings at San Diego Int Airport Nov 23, 2012 from Cy Kuckenbaker on Vimeo.
While you were out shopping on Black Friday about a week ago, airports around the country were plenty busy shuttling passengers to here and there—despite the sales. One such airport was San Diego International where rush hour for air traffic fell between 10:30am and 3pmsignificantly more than an hour. It was busy business as usual, but what sets SAN apart is that one photographer decided to get a little creative while planespotting.
Check out the resulting video above, which is a pretty unique look at the comings and goings of traffic at the airport, all condensed into about 30 seconds. Definitely worth a second—or third—look as you're trying to warm up to the workweek.
Over at PetaPixel they have a behind the scenes look at how the video was made and film and photography professor Cy Kuckenbaker describes how exactly he got down to business near the airport. It all kind of makes us want to try something like this on our own, but for now we’ll just watch one more time.
