· Crazy cheap South America flights on LAN and TAM:
Very late last night, an alert of a fluke sale hit the internet. Our pal The Points Guy has the details, but the gist is this: a little searching around Orbitz.com for late spring 2013 dates can yield roundtrips between New York/Miami/Los Angeles and Buenos Aires, Argentina or Santiago, Chile for under $390 total on TAM. We'd argue for Santiago as we've been twice in 2012 alone and it. is. awesometown.
Speaking of Santiago, LAN is offering sale fares plus an extra 10% off flights from Miami, NY and LA to South America, including destinations like Bogota, Buenos Aires, Quito, Montevideo, Mendoza, Santiago and more. This means paying only $640 to fly from Los Angeles to Lima, a route which will include LAN's brand new Boeing 787 Dreamliner from January! We checked, and the 787 is showing up in the itineraries before you even book, to be sure. This deal can be found right in LAN's special offers section, but does end today.
· Domestic deals on AirTran:
It's just a nationwide route sale from AirTran, but with flights like Boston to Orlando for $90 each way and Pittsburgh to St. Louis for $87 each way, it's worth checking out if you have upcoming must-do travel. Find the sale on their website.
