A couple renters were a little curious—and not exactly thrilled—that they were making a political statement without their knowledge, but it sounds like it was all part of the franchisee’s plan. Once employees were notified of the rogue bumper stickers, they just acknowledged the issue and commented that the owner slapped them on there.
Huffington Post followed-up and got a response from Thrifty, and it sounds like the stickers will be removed. Just so you know this is what Thrifty had to say about the whole situation:
“The company does not condone the placement of political materials on our corporate rental cars nor is it associated with any particular political position."
No matter what side of the fence you're on when it comes to politics please leave your bumper stickers on your own car—even if they're just for, like, South of the Border.
