· Lufthansa:
Everyone loves Vancouver and everyone loves Munich, so it’s perfect that Lufthansa is getting ready to connect the two cities—and two countries—with a nonstop flight. The plan is to start the flying fun on May 16 of 2013 with flights doing their thing on a daily basis.
Some of Lufthansa’s Airbus A330s will do the heavy lifting over a couple continents and a pretty big ocean, as the planes and people get ready to do their thing. The only bummer is that this is scheduled as of now to only be a summer seasonal thing, as it looks like the planes will head back into the hangar as of October 5.
· easyJet:
We love us some cheap flights, and the cheap flights are plentiful—thanks to all those low cost carriers—over in Europe. Everyone knows that easyJet loves to fly to here and there for quite a deal, and now they’re expanding their route network all the way over to Moscow. The plan is to more easily link Russia with the United Kingdom, as easyJet now has the necessary stamps and seals to connect London-Gatwick with Moscow-Domodedovo.
Flights will do their thing a couple times per day, and initial flights will be as cheap as around $200 or so when they go on sale over the next few weeks. Just remember to score a visa before you ready to depart if you call the nifty fifty home.
· Delta:
Who doesn’t enjoy a little fun in the sun during the winter months? If the travel budget can’t really swing somewhere foreign and you just have to stay domestic there’s always Key West, and now Delta is making it a little easier to access. No need to drive down Route 1 from Miami or Fort Lauderdale, as Delta is expanding their nonstop options directly to Key West International Airport.
The plan is to provide flights out of New York-LaGuardia right into Key West on December 22, 29, and January 5, and after that it sounds like Saturdays between March 2 and April 6. It’s a pretty limited seasonal schedule, but we like the option—especially considering it’s apparently the longest commercial flight to ever head in and out of Key West.
