Most recently Orbis received a boost in funding from the sale at auction of a rare Omega limited edition titanium Planet Ocean watch worn by Daniel Craig in Skyfall. As part of the Christie's auction to mark the 50th Anniversary of James Bond on film, the Omega fetched £157,250, with every penny going to Orbis. 2012 also happens to be the 30th Anniversary of Orbis International.
You don't have to be a celebrity with the cache of James Bond in order to help out Orbis. The NGO accepts donations from anyone willing to help, from as little as £2 a month (which helps buy eye test charts) or a one-time donation of £19 to fund a cataract procedure. £75 can train a doctor. £125 will provide antibiotics for 500 children to prevent trachoma. (And all donations to Orbis are tax deductible).
