Denzel Washington Crash Lands an Airplane...in a Movie, Of Course

November 2. That would be the day to avoid movie theaters if flying makes you nervous or, you know, watching CGI airplane crashes freaks you out. This is because Denzel Washington's new movie Flight premieres that night and it's going to be a doozy.

Watch the trailer above, but be prepared for the graphic crash scenes. If it makes you feel any better, all passengers survive a la "Miracle on the Hudson," though this aircraft isn't landing in any rivers; it's landing upside-down.

The movie focuses on the flight's captain, Whip Whitaker (played by Denzel and with an alliteration reminiscent of Sully Sullenberger), who successfully crash lands the jet after something happens mid-flight and, though he saves all lives, he is thrown into controversy and possibly jail after blood tests reveal he had alcohol in his bloodstream during the flight. It's being billed as a Mystery Thriller and the cabin scenes of terror are already giving us heart palpitations, though it looks as though the "thriller" part will be in the first 20 minutes with the crash, while the bulk of the film focuses on the resulting trials. Hmm.
