2012 Pumpkin Festival - Keene, New Hampshire
There’s still a few weeks until the pumpkins do their thing up in New Hampshire, as the 2012 Pumpkin Festival in Keene is getting ready to light their jack-o-lanterns on October 20. At this festival there’s carving contents, pumpkin bowling, a pumpkin promenade, and even a great pumpkin mile race. However, the highlight is the lighting of like a billion—give or take a few—pumpkins once the sun sets for the evening. All the jack-o-lanterns are displayed within the Pumpkin Tower at Central Square, and you’re even encouraged do bring your own to put on display. Last year there were 16,186 pumpkins lit up and doing their thing—sounds like a can’t miss.
Calabasas Pumpkin Festival - Calabasas, California
For those looking for a side of celebrities to go with your pumpkin festival, then our recommendation is to head to over to California and hit up the Calabasas Pumpkin Festival in Juan Bautista de Anza Park. Things are set to do their thing on October 20 and 21, as the orange fun is scheduled to run between 10am and 5pm. Admission is just $5 per person, and that’ll get you access to the car show, live bands, reptile shows, and even a chance to take a ride down a giant slide. Of course there’s other stuff that might set you back a few bucks, so bring extra cash for the pumpkin beer, pumpkin pie, pumpkin shakes, pumpkin patch, and pumpkin everything else.
