Watch Out, EVA Air; Japan Airlines Has a 'Hello Kitty' Plane Too
The carriers over in Japan just canít get enough of wacky airplane liveries and specialty paint jobs, and thatís fine with us because we canít stop talking about them. Japan Airlines is the latest to reveal a fresh look, and itís a brand new tribute to the Hello Kitty empire.
Itís not just all fun either, as this latest color scheme (for this plane only) is hanging around to bring recognition and awareness about cervical cancer. Japan Airlines, TOKYO FM, and Sanrio are all joining forces as part of the "Hellosmile Project." The plan is to support prevention programs with the planeóitís a Boeing 777 with the registration number JA8941óas it flies in and around Japan and the globe for the next year or so.
Japan Airlines hinted that it might just be initially doing its thing at some major domestic destinations like Sapporo, Osaka, and Fukuoka, so be sure to keep your eyes on the skies. The plane made its debut at Tokyo-Haneda, so thatís a good start to your airplane scavenger hunt.
Itís certainly a more subtle dedication to the Hello Kitty brand with only a logo slapped onto the side of the jet, but since itís trying its best to do some good weíre all in favor of the latest airplane update. If you need a full Hello Kitty airplane (or three), just check out EVA Air.
