Pigs Can Now Fly. It's True; Just Ask Pet Airways
All that stuff you've been putting off with the excuse "when pigs fly" now has to happen, as a pig has literally flown, albeit onboard an airplane ready and waiting for him and his special swine needs.
The airline that flew "Bosley" from Florida to New York in order to join a farm out in the Hamptons is, of course, Pet Airways and they're quite proud to be the first airline to offer white glove airline service to piggies.
And here we thought Pet Airways pretty much just stuck to dogs and cats, but no:
[Bosley's] journey is possible thanks to Pet Airways, the only airline that flies pets in the main cabin of the plane, not in cargo. The airline has flown over 7,000 dogs and cats since launching in 2009. Other Pawsengers™ have included birds, rats, and even a hermit crab—but Bosley will be the first pig to fly the pet-friendly skies.
OMG. A flying Hermit Crab! That's something we would have liked to seea little crab all curled up in a little travel cage ready for the little airplane to come whisk its pampered, shell-covered butt to warmer climes. Maybe next time Pet Airways will fly a flamingo? We can only hope.
