Elizabeth Taylor's jewels, clothes, and art are crisscrossing the globe leading up to their auction at Christie's in December

One of our on the ground London contacts returned from The Collection of Elizabeth Taylor exhibition with the following report: "That woman owned some serious bling."

That she did, a fact all too evident given the bounty of jewels on display in the roving showcase, which also features pieces from Taylor's impressive wardrobe and art collection. But back to the "bling" in question: 269 precious gemstones—rubies, emeralds, and, of course, diamonds among them—are included in the exhibit, their worth estimated in excess of $30 million. Yeah, "Holy s---!" was our first reaction, too.

The Collection of Elizabeth Taylor is currently traveling the globe leading up to the auction of the featured items in December at Christie's New York. Just departing London, it is heading to Los Angeles' MOCA before being shuttled to Dubai, Geneva, Paris, Hong Kong, and finally, New York.

A portion of the proceeds from admission to the exhibition will be donated to The Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation. For a full list of dates and stops, and to virtually ogle some of the dazzling items on display, visit Christie's online.
