Interior features to look for on ANA's 787:
· Bigger, awesomer windows with a soft button that allows for five levels of dimming, including black-out (though it stays a cool blue)
· LED lighting that allows for the interior to mimic dawn, dusk, and everything in between. At mealtimes, the lighting adopts a warm orange tone, making your food actually appear yummier.
· Only 12 Business Class seats, no First Class. This plane will be used on domestic Japan routes, so there's a greater need for economy as far as the eye can see. A different configuration applies for their long-haul 787.
· A Business Class perk of a wine and sake bar.
· Touchscreen, on-demand in-flight entertainment. Plus a controller at eye-level, instead of wedged into your armrest.
· USB and plug outlets at every seat. Hallelujah.
· A neutral, uniformly-pleasing interior design scheme. No rainbows or sakura; this plane means business.
· Overhead bins that are not only easier to reach (despite a higher ceiling), but also with latches which you may push or pull to open.
· Large bathrooms, some with windows, and all with Toto Washlet toilets (aka the automatic ones that'll wash you butt for you).
· No more dry airplane air with a new air pressurization system that changes the cabin air earlier in the flight.
· Decreased engine noise and a smoother ride (explaining all this gets technical, so trust us).
Curious about the slick exterior? See our shots of that right here.
