Three Ways to Prep for ABC's 'Pan Am' Premiere This Sunday

September 23, 2011 at 11:43 AM | by | Comments (0)

OMG you guys. ABC's new show Pan Am debuts this weekend. That's crazy! It seems like just yesterday we were overly excited by the idea of their even talking about doing a pilot episode, and now we'll all get to enjoy a little look back to the days of glamorous travel, glammed up even further by the magic of TV.

The premiere airs on ABC at 10pm EST/9pm CST this Sunday, September 25. Rest assured we'll recap it on Monday, and there's the possibility that we'll live-tweet our reactions at @Jaunted, but we've got a date with Boeing that night, so we'll see. *wink*

Now, without ado, the three ways you can prep for Sunday's Pan Am show premiere:

· Watch YouTube videos of old Pan Am ads
This a slippery slope because you could easily end up sinking several hours in YouTube doing it. But it's all for research, right? Begin with this video and then work your way through the suggested videos.

· View a clip of the "Catch Me If You Can" musical
Sadly, the award-winning Broadway show just did its last show earlier this month. Although we can't see it on stage, there's always the awesome Tony Awards performance of several of the show's great musical numbers (full of '60s retro fashion, natch).

· Read our "My First Flight" series
We've got two absolutely beautiful tales of Pan Am in its heyday in this series, plus a slew of other retro travel reminiscing. If you'd like to submit your own "My First Flight" tale, we'd love to feature it (and it can be any airlines, from any decade); just shoot it over to our email.
