Jaunted Reporting Live: How to Follow Our Adventures During the Boeing 787 First Delivery

September 23, 2011 at 6:43 PM | by | Comments (2)

Have you heard enough about Boeing's new 787 Dreamliner? Hopefully not, because the fancy schmancy new airplane hasn't even been delivered to its first airline yet. That is, until this upcoming Monday it hasn't.

That's right—Monday marks the official delivery of the 787 to All Nippon Airways, an international airline based in Japan and an airline champing at the bit with excitement over the occasion. They'll get the keys to the bird, itself sporting some pretty flashy new livery—check out a rendering of that here. Needless to say, this whole event is a huge deal for travel, aviation, business, technology and the good ol' US of A, and we'll be there for it all.

Landing in Seattle bright and early Sunday morning (after some 20-ish hours of flying from Southeast Asia), we'll be sharing our experiences at Boeing facilities, on the tarmac and in the briefing rooms as much as humanly (and technically) possible. Here's how to follow along for all our hot and bothered 787 excitement:

· Follow us on Twitter: @Jaunted is the name and tweeting breaking travel news and photos is our game. Where there's WiFi (or 3G), we'll be there. Just keep in mind that we're 3 hours behind EST in Seattle. You can also follow the personal account of Jaunted's editor, @JetSetCD, for more.
· Follow us on Foursquare: We're addicted to putting our stamp on the world, venue-by-venue, and that's where Foursquare comes in. Be our friend on Foursquare HERE, and you'll know exactly where we are by our check-ins.
· Stay tuned to Jaunted.com: Whatever cool stuff there is to know from the Boeing factory line and everywhere else, we'll make sure you're on the in. Expect photo galleries and more fun, starting Sunday night through Tuesday.
· Check out Boeing's official 787 website: It's right here, and they will be doing a livefeed from the morning (PST) festivities on Monday. We'll try to wave at the cameras if we can find 'em.

Our coverage will be unique because we haven't seen a 787 in person yet! Seattle isn't exactly in our backyard, so all of this will be from fresh eyes and the position of someone who's legitimately psyched to explore every (wine) nook and (seatback) cranny. We're totally stoked...and hoping you are as well!

Congratulations

Congratulations, Boeing! I've followed you all these years - since the 747 became my favorite aircraft. Over the years, I've traveled numerous times with your giant bird, the most lovely airplane in the world. And, as a Norwegian, I - besides - discovered that I have dear descendants of old ancestors living in Seattle! I want to visit them! I look forward to the day when I can - as a passenger - be flying a Dreamliner! Best Einar Kr. Holtet Tokerudberget 5, 0986 Oslo NORWAY.
